A Love Poem
nature loves you
~ just as you are and how you is ~
nature makes space for you
when the world feels narrow and tight
nature embraces you
with strong and timeless arms
nature inspires the heart
your spirit unfurls like a leaf
nature loves you
~ just as you are and how you is ~
[Valentine’s Day hearts are compliments of the pretty little non-native, Henbit (Lamium amplexicaule). This photo is from a few years ago… I’m eagerly watching for them to bloom any day now!]
such a beautiful dainty blossom- and I enjoyed reading the poem again. Nature truly is always there with open arms. It’ll be awhile before we see any color here, but the temps warmed up to the mid 40’s today and I finally got out for some fresh air.. we found so many muskrat out and about searching for food- although it’s probably too early for mating, the song ‘muskrat love’ has been playing in my mind all day 🙂
It seems like not so long ago that I first jotted down this poem and sent it off to you — I can’t believe that was almost three years ago!! Well, time has passed, eh my friend? I changed a few of the lines here and there, but the basic sentiment remains unchanged and feels just as true for me. I know you envy the color we get at this time of year, but… Oh, how I envy you those muskrats! How wonderful it must be to watch them frolicking. “Muskrat Love” — *grin*!
